Hey folks, it’s your old friends at Prescribe Nutrition. “But wait, you’re alive?” We are! Alive indeed, and dare I even say rested and renewed. Many of you have reached out wondering where we are, what we’re up to and most importantly when Prescribe 20 is coming back (good news on that below).
You know those rare moments in life when you calmly decide to pause, reflect and meditate on the best path forward? Ok I didn’t know about those times either BUT apparently people do that, and our team did just that in 2018. We decided to pause and have a think – where are we now and what do we want moving forward? What do we love? What do we want more of? What do we want less of? Turns out we had a lot to face the music on, and what a gift it was.
Katie and I founded Prescribe Nutrition over 6 years ago (say what?!) to empower people to take the reins on their relationship with food. It was an effort for us all to stop torturing ourselves over “good food” vs. “bad food.” To dig deep, educate, and most importantly FEEL what food does in and to our bodies. So it was sincerely the biggest achievement of our lives when we realized our programs were doing just that, making people feel great and empowered.
But turns out that running a wellness company that promotes balance and harmony can even leave you feeling…not so balanced. Listen, Katie and I have both felt like crap in the past, and we were determined to help others understand why chronic dieting and self loathing don’t go over so well in our bodies and minds. We won’t bore you with all the details, but in the ongoing spirit of being honest, we came to a point where the business required us to hit pause, and in doing so, many beautiful transitions have happened.
You know how they say when you ask the universe for things it often delivers? Well, it worked. We asked ourselves what was missing in our lives professionally and more. We asked for help in the areas we never had help in. And sure enough, opportunities and people entered our lives that have brought us both some peace, inspiration and more. More to come on all the sweet changes in the coming weeks, but suffice it to say opening up the ol’ blog, saying wassup and that we’re back (in a new way) feels good and it feels right.
So here we are, Prescribe Nutrition is back and with an exciting new future. Projects and ideas are a’ brewing! We’re running our first Prescribe 20 in over a year! Stay tuned on dates – registration opening soon!!
It’s not lost on us that we’ve just passed the Spring Equinox. Life is blooming, and transition is everywhere (Chani we’d be lost without you). We are curious, excited and optimistic for what’s on the horizon and so grateful for the role you’ve all played in our lives.
What do you want from PN? What would support you? What would excite you? Let us know in the comments below! And in the spirit of Spring and rebirth and health, a recipe for you our sweet followers. Whip this little crowd pleaser up for any spring festivities you have on deck, it’s delightful.

Megan, & Katie
Vibrant Spring Pea Dip
3 cups fresh or frozen organic green peas
Zest of 1 lemon
3 tablespoons lemon juice (approx. 1⁄2 lemon)
1 large clove of garlic
1⁄4 cup packed mint leaves
2 tablespoons fresh chives
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons raw tahini
1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon cumin
- If using frozen peas, leave out to thaw completely, or cook them in step 2. If using raw peas, skip over to step 3.
- To blanche the peas (this enhances their sweetness), bring a pot of water to boil, add peas and cook for 2-3 minutes (no more!). Plunge them into an ice bath or very cold water to halt the cooking process. Set aside.
- Put whole clove of garlic in a food processor and pulse to mince. Add the remaining ingredients and blend on high to puree.
- Serve in a bowl drizzled with olive oil and serve with fresh crudités, whole grain crackers or your favorite snack.
- Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
