This post goes out to all of those tweens and teens who love their cell phones and eating. Yup, just about all of them. Since they’re probably not going to be reading this, we will let you pass on this awesome find. Healthy U Junior Chef is a website that has a FREE iPhone and iPad app that accompany it. You may want to check it out yourself, too. It’s pretty cool. 

The website and app encourage your “Junior Chefs” to get involved in the kitchen and make healthy choices. After selecting a recipe, they can view nutrition facts and see how often this recipe should be eaten – it ranges from very often to just sometimes. Then it lists ingredients and instructions. It also introduces the meal planning concept to those tweens and teens who haven’t had to plan ahead yet. You know, the kind of things I am still working on. Start ’em young, right?
