20questionsintroWe are having way too much fun reading all of your questions you’re submitting for us…whether in Instagram, Facebook, in Prescribe 20 or via email. Thank you for playing along with our fun game!

So first up: smoothies! “I want a post sharing the PN ladies’ favorite smoothie recipes right now… I am always looking for new ones!” Side note: none of the pictures below are of the smoothies we listed. Sorry, we apparently prefer to photograph green smoothies to brown or orange 😉

You asked, we answered…

Megan: Okay so mine is weird to be a “go-to” smoothie but it’s the truth. It’s brown and ugly but my fave!

  • Large handful of spinach or baby kale
  • 2 cooked beets (I use the pre-cooked ones from TJs)
  • 2/3 cup frozen strawberries
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon cacao
  • 1 Tablespoon cocoa nibs
  • 2 Tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • Water to thin if needed
  • Ice if needed

smoothie3Katie: I’ve been relying on a variation of this winner from Nutrition Stripped. I love a creamsicle!

  • 1-2 medium oranges (about 1 cup total)
  • 1 frozen banana (you may use ½ to cut down on the sugar content)
  • 1 cup organic cucumber
  • 1 cup organic romaine lettuce (optional)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (of your choice)
  • ½-1 cup unsweetened almond milk (more for a thinner consistency)
  • dash of cinnamon to taste
  • ½ cup ice (more if you’d like a thicker consistency)

smoothie2Tanya: I made this smoothie up last fall and have hardly taken a break from it since then. Coffee, fruits and veggies in one drink?! Um, yes please. Feel free to add anything else in this bad boy: almond or coconut milk, cacao nibs, frozen berries, etc.

  • Cold press coffee or leftover coffee that’s cooled down – I just estimate with this…probably 1/2 cup to 1 cup
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 a banana
  • LOTS of cinnamon (or however much you want 🙂
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I’ve been loving the Sunwarrior Warrior Blend)
  • 1 Tablespoon gelatin (Great Lakes Gelatin – green can!)

smoothie4Anna: I keep it quick and easy with three kiddos running around! These are the base ingredients to the whole shebang – feel free to build off of this!

  • Big scoop of Bulgarian yogurt or kefir (add water if using yogurt – this acts as our liquid!)
  • 1 avocado
  • Generous handful (or two) of whatever greens I have on hand
  • About 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
